Nothing Is Real began in May 2019 and is currently eight seasons old.

The goal is to look at The Beatles from as many different angles as possible with hosts Steven Cockcroft and Jason Carty.

The events, the songs, the moments, the albums, the coincidences, the happenings, the effects, the triumphs, the failures, the people, The Beatles, John, Paul, George Ringo - all of it, and more, gets covered on Nothing Is Real.

 

Visiting Abbey Road

Season One

Nothing In Real started in May 2019 as an in-studio podcast. As the series evolved we visited Abbey Road, interviewed Mark Lewisohn and did a live show with an audience.

Meeting Robyn Hitchcock

Season Two

Nothing Is Real returned in June 2020, a little later than expected due to the global situation. Before being evicted from the studio we sat down with Robyn Hitchcock, and lockdown recording led to deep dives on the Beatles Anthology and the year 1974.

Season Three

After a brief summer break, Nothing Is Real returned in September 2020. There were three albums celebrating a 50th birthdays: Plastic Ono BAnd (John and Yoko’s), McCartney and a three episodes look at All Things Must Pass. There was also the surprise release of a new rockdown album: McCartney III

From Brian To Klein

Season Six

For season six, Nothing Is Real tried something new: an arc. We looked at the people, moments and events that brought the Beatles from the cosseted creativity of the Brian Epstein era to the wild west of Allen Klein. Whatever you do, don’t call it From Brian to Klein.

Nothing Is Real has been releasing bonus episodes for supporters since March 2021. For 2023 we put out a season of 16 episdoes, one for each of the 16 songs that The Beatles put out in 1966 - their most revolutionary, but least productive year.
